How am I doing? I just started.?
I just started skateboarding and i am working on my ollie. A problem i have is that I dont feel like my board is hitting the ground (at the tail when i kick it) and I have trouble sliding my foot across the board. Should I get a new pair of shoes for it? right now i have some nikes that dont look like they where made for Skateboarding… But i dont know if getting new shoes would help. Thanks for the tips guys.

Congrats on getting out there and doing something dude! That is exactly the reason that i started skating and it has led to me to make a lot of new friends and skating buddies. Any who back to your question, a new pair of shoes will definatly help your skating overall and will probably make you a little more comfotable so maybe its worth a try. This may go against every thing you have been told but give it a try it may work try putting your wait on your front foot as you bend down jump then stomp the tail (very quickly likea split second) this should give you more “pop”. As for sliding your front foot use your toe not your whole foot you will get it eventually. It took me 3 weeks doing around 200 ollies a day (thats around 4200 ollies lol) untill i got it dead right. Every body is different some get it in days, some weeks and even months. just keep trying you will get it. I hope this helped. Have fun.
