Mercedes C220 Oil Filter Wrench?
What wrench is needed to get the cap off the oil fliter on a MB C220? There are so many i cant figure it out. What size???
What wrench is needed to get the cap off the oil fliter on a MB C220? There are so many i cant figure it out. What size???
Should just be a 32mm socket. Don’t go for the larger cup style filter “wrench”. They don’t work well and cost quite a bit more than the socket. Go to Sears and pick up a high quality Craftsman one for only $12. Make sure you observe the torque settings on the top of the filter. Also be sure to have all the threads aligned before you start to wrench on the filter housing. You should be able to finger or hand tighten it most of the way down and then use the socket to secure it.
If you use a high quality filter, such as Mann or Mahle, be sure to replace the 3 gaskets that come with the filter. One goes on the outside of the lid and the other two go on the filter post inside the housing. (you’ll see them when you remove the filter)
