I am looking for a Mercedes diesel around 1995 to 1998 model what merc will give the least problem?
I have read about Mercedes diesel and there are loads of problems, what model would be the less problem in terms of expensive breakdown?

I bought a 1999 e300dt (turbodiesel) and love it. It gets a solid 33-34mpg highway, and all the research I did tells me the motor should go 400,000+ miles. That is the main reason I bought it. Also, yes the cost of diesel is more than gas, but I am using less gallons if I drove the gas equivalent of the e-class. It is bigger and safe than a smaller gasoline powered car that would get the same milage.
